About the Lone Star Series:
The Lone Star Series was created from direct feedback from members of the Lone Star Bass fishing forum. The goal was to create a team tournament series that provided the contingency programs, payouts and prize packages normally associated with much larger trails but to do so at the $150 entry point. Additionally, we wanted to be able to shorten the number of events in each Division to four (4), thus allowing anglers to compete in other trails or events they have in their respective tournament schedules. The shortened divisional series assist anglers with their budget and travel requirements as well. Finally, a large number of our Lone Star members compete each year in the Bass Champs tournament trail, so we wanted to make sure that our trail was “Champs friendly” allowing anglers to maximize their investment of time and energy around certain lakes that are common to both trails.
With the feedback we received, we set out to meet or exceed expectations related to lake selection, schedule flexibility, high payouts, sponsor participation, divisional options and rules flexibility for the 2010 series. To that end, we believe we have established the foundation needed in order to create one of the state’s premier team tournament trails. We look forward to the 2010 series and hope that tournament anglers will join us for our 2010 events.
