Dale Read

Dale Read was born and raised in Baytown, Texas where he attended Robert E. Lee High and then went on to Lee Community College. Moving to Austin in 1984, he started a 25 year career with Alpha Painting and is the Field Operations Manager for this large commercial and industrial painting company. Dale lives in Leander with his amazing wife of over 21 years, Deana; they have been blessed with two sons, Hunter and Jake.

Growing up in a family that loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, Dale got started at a young age. His early experiences found him on Lake Livingston in East Texas and salt water fishing in Trinity Bay with his father. After moving to Austin, he soon found out how much he enjoyed the challenges that central Texas lakes offer.

Dale fished his first tournament in 2003 and has never looked back. Currently fishing Bass Champs, Lone Star Series and Faith Angler Netwrok, Dale has found considerable success in a relatively short amount of time. In fact, Dale and his partner were points champions in the Central Texas Division of Fishers of Men in 2007; they eventually went on to the FOM National Championship on Lake Cumberlin in Kentucky and finished in 6th place! Particularly competitive in Bass Champs, Dale has fished the trail since its inception and already has five top ten finishes to his credit.

Dale is a BIG fish magnet and proves it weekly on his favorite body of water, Lake Austin. His strengths and favorite technique, which are locating bass travel routes and shallow water fishing with a “wacky” style Senko, have won him plenty of money over the last few years!
