Duke Kinley

Dwayne “Duke” Kinley is from Buffalo, New York and was first taken fishing by his father at a very young age. Duke brought his love for fishing to Texas when he moved to Austin in 1980; after countless hours on the water he learned how to catch many species in both fresh and saltwater. When you ask Duke for fishing tips, don’t be surprised to get current information about trophy largemouth, hand-sized bluegills, monster catfish and “Spots and Dots” all in one report!

Although Duke loves to fish for anything that swims, his true passion is chasing black bass. Duke has been fishing bass tournaments since 1986, he learned a lot about the sport from his friends and gives them much credit for “getting him up to speed” and in the money. Duke is no stranger to the spot light and has appeared in several publications including the cover of Bass Fan magazine, which featured him in January 2006 with his 13 pound ShareLunker bass, and was on the front page of the Columbia South Carolina State Newspaper during the Fishers of Men National tournament in 2007. Texas Outdoors Journal has published pictures and interviews with Duke in several issues and he’s been interviewed on television in reference to bow fishing and bass fishing.

When people go fishing with Duke there’s usually a story they won’t forget! Some of the youth he has taken fishing have received awards from Texas Parks & Wildlife. Duke is as good of an anlger and a person as they come; he always gives credit to God and thanks him for the opportunity to do what he loves so much – fish.
