Jayson Kisselburg
Jayson Kisselburg
Jayson Kisselburg was born at Luke Air Force Base in Glendale, Arizona and grew up down in Yuma, Arizona. Jayson played football for Yuma High School and thought his future was planned out until he blew out his knee his senior year. With football out of the picture, he turned to the next best thing – fishing. Jayson’s love of fishing began when he was old enough to walk and cast a line with his father and grandfathers. He fished his very first tournament from a belly tube in January in the rain and didn’t fare well, but as he walked to the scales, soaking wet, the other anglers commented that he’ll either become pro or die at a young age. At his next tournament Jayson and his partner blew the field away and from then on he was hooked!
After graduating high school Jayson’s plan was to attend Mohave County Community College and fish every chance he had. However, the water kept calling his name and Jayson dropped out of college (not recommended), got a job and started his fishing career. He won his first pro tournament at the Red Man Tournament Trail shortly after meeting his wife, Tana. They rolled coins to have enough gas money to get to the tournament; but from then on Jayson was a force to be reckoned with. He qualified for the BFL American and finished 1st in the inaugural Fish & Chips tournament with his good friend, Dean Rojas. Jayson has won two boats and has numerous top 10 finishes in FLW, BASS and a number of team tournaments.
Jayson began fishing central Texas lakes in early 2010 and quickly familiarized himself with the local waters; he won a Bass Champs Central event that same year on Travis and caught his first 10 pounder on Lake Austin. Eventually moving to Jarrell, TX in June of 2010, he now looks forward to getting on the water every chance he gets and pursuing his fishing career full time. Jayson and Tana have a beautiful daughter, Berklee, and a handsome son, Lake.
