This article is a bit of a lengthy read, but this guy has caught over a thousand double-digit bass with one over 18 and six over 15 lbs.  Most of his fish were caught from small ponds and lakes in GA. 

 

 

Some years he fishes 320 nights a year and primarily uses custom made black buzz baits; his tackle selection is a 6' MED action Ugly Stick rod with an Ambassador 5500C and 17 lb Vicious mono…I kinda puked up my breakfast after reading that!
