Not sure what the heck is going on with Lake Austin and freakish incidents for me this year, but around 3:30 I was under 360 fishing with Cary when a guy decided to jump from the bridge and fall into the water about 60 feet from us.  For a split second we both thought it might have been a huge pelican – thinking to ourselves no way that was a human body right?  But the eerie feeling quickly set in that it was very likely a suicide attempt as we headed over to the point of impact.  We waited for about 30 seconds and I called 911 when he didn't resurface.  As I was on the phone with the fire dept the guy's hat floated up, we picked it up and there was a moment of silence; turned it over to the officers on the scene, answered a few questions and went about our way.

A couple of us were hanging out at 360 after the tournament and saw APD transfer the body from their boat to a coroner or mortician around 11:00 pm.

First the Legend vs john boat ordeal and now this…WTF man?

Man that is crazy.  Sure does point out the irony in life, two guys fishing in a boat with no further worry than the next beer or if a fish will school and 80 feet above your head it's so bad that a fella has to end it all.  Crazy.

Yeah that is crazy Ando,  too bad that jackass couldnt end it all w/out affecting someone else's life.  I hope he didnt leave any kids/wife, if he did he is a selfish coward (if it was a suicide).   Hope you, Cary, and Rick are alright.  I honestly can say I would have been a little shook up!!!

Prayers for his family regardless and for the other fella who drowned on Lady Bird yesterday.

Yea, I guess it was easy for us guys that didn't actually witness everything go down to brush it off, but that had to have given you sort of a creepy, eerie feeling throughout the whole night.  I couldn't imagine or think what I would have done in that scenerio.

A couple five or so years ago, I was floating the guad and witnessed a guy in his 40’s jump from a railway bridge in to 5’ of water. He landed within mere feet of me…

The fall crushed his spine and he was gone within the hour… The group I was with was comprised of 7 officers and 3 EMT’s and everyone agreed there wasn’t much anybody could do.

His death was un-intentional but it stays with you just the same. My prayers go out to his family.
