Ok, now that I have everyone's attention, let me tell you the real story.  So I wasn't lying about the lake record; it just wasn't what y'all thought it was going to be, hahaha.  Below are some pics of a MONSTER carp that I hooked on a rattle trap yesterday while pre-fishing for the TuffMan Championship. I was right in thinking I had a lake record when I hooked it, just was in the wrong family of fish!

Needless to say, it sure was fun while it lasted giving that we were having a slow day of fishing anyway.  The marina was closed so I wasn't sure what else to do to get it weighed or were to put it.  The lake record on the TPWL website for Stillhouse for carp caught on a rod and reel was around 23 pounds.  This monster was pushing around 40-45lbs!  It busted our net all to pieces when my partner netted it.  It almost pulled him over the side of the boat when he went to lift it into the boat.

Maybe I need to take up carp fishing…seems this is the only way I'm going to catch one over 10 lbs. I caught one around 10-15lbs pre-fishing for Belton Tuffan; caught that one on a fluke!

Damn, I'm surprised you touched that bottom sucker.  That is the catfish's daddy!!!

Nice fish Valentino, I hope you dragged it up on the bank and left it for the buzzards

That is actually a Smallmouth Buffalo, lake record on Stillhouse is 47.50lbs.  Regardless, that is a monster!  I snagged one on Bastrop a few weeks back that was pushing 30 lbs and damn that was fun.

Terry How long did it take you to wash your boat after it touched your carpet?

Thanks Trey for the clarification since I have no idea about what the hell these things are called; figured I couldn't be too far off if I called it a carp. Dale, it took some convincing from my buddy saying that it was a must that I take a pic with that monster. It wasn't the highlight of my day that's for sure but knew I had to get a pic so I could post it on the website. Took one for the team and website….haha
