Well, it's been a couple of months with the new Google G2x and the handset has been a nightmare since day 1.  It's an extremely fast phone when it works, but the major issue is it only works 25% of the time at optimum performance.

I've had to perform a hard reboot (removing the battery) at least three times a week since I bought it new and today it finally quit rebooting…the POS is frozen in the LG loading screen and clocking.  I called T Mobile customer service for a warranty exchange and when they asked me if there were any other problems with the phone I gave them a long list and asked if there was a fix or software upgrade to avoid the problems on my new handset – especially with the overheating.  Most of the replies were BS from a customer service script but I couldn't believe what the rep told me in regards to preventing the overheating issue.

Rep: Where do you usually keep your phone?

Me: In my pocket.

Rep: In the front or rear pocket?

Me: Usually in the front, unless I'm getting a lap dance.

Rep: So you take your phone out of your pocket when you go dancing?

Me: Forget it, it was a lame attempt at humor.

Rep: Do you play a lot of sports or participate in outdoor activities?

Me: Yes.

Rep: I would suggest you not keep your phone in your pocket when outdoors; if you sweat a lot this may also cause water damage to the handset/battery.

Me: So if I can't put the phone in my pocket, where should I keep it?

Rep: I would recommend keeping it somewhere around room temperature or purchasing a holster.

Me: Sorry, I don't wear a belt with shorts.  Just send me a new phone.

What a joke, this is supposedly their top of the line 4G handset to compete with the iPhone.  Anyway, looks like I won't have a working cell phone until Monday – just a heads up in case anyone is trying to reach me over the weekend.
