I'm looking at buying a good used bass boat. Been to several online sites and have been eyeing this 07' Skeeter which is now at $30k.  I don't know why this boat has not sold- but I wanted someone else's opinion on what you think of what you see being advertised here. Is it the 300 hp? The price? I'm seriously interested and need advice, thanks guys

If that is the original hours on the boat and motor that is crazy.  30 hours is crazy low!!!  I know Landon runs a 300 Yammie so maybe he will jump in and give his opinion but if it has a warranty on the motor and is as clean as advertised it seems like a good deal to me.

That's what I figured Robby, I guess it could be that some tourneys don't allow 300 hp, maybe the fuel consumption, or just the financial times- banks won't loan you $30k for a boat.  I need to check this boat out in person.

I think some of the higher level tournies (ie Elites/FLW) may not allow it.  The only problem I ever had w/ a Yammie (along with other who has owned them) is oil comsumption, gas mileage isnt horrible though.  I would agree, go look at it.   Be sure to take a cashier check too :) cause once you see it you'll have to have it…

Better have deep pockets for the gas and oil that 300 will consume especialy if you run it hard. You will be able to pass everything but a gas station.

Agreed, had a 300 Yammie on my Champion.  Ran like a scalded dog, but ate me out of house and home.  Really used the oil in particular…

Guess it really comes down to how much you'd use it.  If you aren't making really long runs real often, the motor makes up for it in performance.  Also, gas was over $4 a gallon at the time when I had mine, so I have particularly bad memories.

Nice looking Skeeter…as the previous post stated, yes that 300 will get-up and go but so will your oil and gas but that should be the major reason not to purchase the boat.  The boat itself looks very clean and with those low hours on it makes it even a better deal. I had an "05" 250 which I loved and wish I still had.  Sold it due to the fact that I was fishing Basschamps and it ran out of the bonus money edligable time-frame.

I'd surely go look at it, test drive it then make a decision. The ZX 250 is a good boat if you like the 21 footer. Best of luck on your decision.

Before making any decisions about the boat give Texas Boat World a call, they have Lee's 250ZX up there and its priced to sell. Cliff told me last weekend it was priced to sell.

Lee's # 830-798-3848, His boat is a 08 ZX250 with 2 years left on motor warranty. Also has the hummingbird unit on the console. He is willing to make a deal.

Ya, I would have to agree that the 300 will drink the gas and oil on a long run wide open. But it will run with most boats and the 250 takes big waves really well. If you decided to make a run on Toledo Bend from the dam up 25mi you better have some extra oil on hand!!! No complaints about my 250zx with a 300 yammie other than I wouldn't want to own it without warranty.
