A A AI fished Austin both days last weekend w/ minimal success (see my reports) and burned a day of PV on Monday to stalk some bedders. While spit shining the boat on Sunday afternoon I lowered the motor so my short self could reach the top of the motor. When I went to raise it up to replace the transom saver w/ the new Lock n Haul the trim and tilt did NOTHING.
What to do? Monday AM I called Brady at Marine Outlet to get some advice since I could get the boat out of the driveway due to the skag being on the ground and he advised me that it was probably the trim relay. I drove up to Temple to get a relay but that didnt work. Brady took no less than 7 or 8 calls from me that day trying to diagnose the problem (fuses, relays etc). I had to call my pops over to help w/ a meter to help me out and we figured out it was the trim motor (the only thing left as Brady eliminated the rest). I called Brady back and advised him of the situation. He had the part overnighted to Marine Outlet and had me ready to go for my trip to Conroe on Thursday. He would have had it ready on Wednesday if not for Mercury shipping the wrong part.
The guys at Marine Outlet APPRECIATE bass boat owners and look forward to taking care of you which is a far cry from what is available here in Austin. Give them a chance and I know you wont be disappointed.
