This lake has been unpredictable for the past seven weeks. As an angler, most of us would look at the current conditions and go from there. Well, it hasn't been that way for the past seven weeks. Here's what you have to do. You must put 100% trust in the electronics. If you don’t see fish on your graph, then move till you do. Most of the quality fish are holding in the deeper water. One week it may be 18 FOW, next week it may be in 20 to 24 FOW.

On my last trip, I finally got some fish to hit a top water bait, and some crank baits as well. But the fish were still in the deeper water. Even though the shore line is covered with bait fish, the bass are still staging in the deeper water. Their bellies aren't like little footballs either like they should be this time of the year in a hot lake. I'm a little confused on what is going on in this lake, but I'm still on some nice fish, but yet they seem to be in some strange places for this time of the year and with the water temp where it is. The bite should be crazy right now, no matter where you are fishing, but it's not……

Later in the day, I broke out the camera just so we could post a few pics. I didn't get a snap shot of our bigger fish, but fish pictures are fish pictures for those in the office to view and drool over while wishing they were fishing instead of working..

I guess I should mention what we caught. We put two fives, several fours and mostly threes in the boat. We did catch two under slot fish, but over all, we landed somewhere close to thirty bass.

We did manage to get one double hook up on this trip. It’s been a while since I’ve had one of these.
