Well fished a club tournament Sunday the 22nd from 2:00 am till 10:00 am. Started off fishing some lights with not much success. After not much luck with the lights I moved off to some deeper ledges about 5:00 am and caught my first and only keeper 16.5" lmb. Moved around from that point from docks to rocks with not much luck. Right at daylight I was throwing a crankbait in about 6' of water and stuck a good fish. Only problem was I knew it wasn't a bass from the start. Ended up fighting this fish for about 15 minutes. But I will say that for my first fish on my new cranking rod 7' 3" Power Tackle Rod it did the trick on the big fish of the day. Turned out to be a 37lb yellowcat on 12lb fluorocarbon!  Ended up fishing my way back to Jonestown for weigh-in hitting docks just trying to find another keeper but never did. As for the tournament first was 15lbs second and third both had 10 something.

Yes, I fried the cat up and fed my family of 4 along with two other families Sunday night.
