Looks like Abu is coming out with a reel to compete with the Steez and Core market. It's slated to weigh 5.4 ozs with a 7.9:1 gear ratio! It will probably make its way over to the US for $400-$450.
You Revo guys better start saving up your pennies.

I'm gonna polish off the old sticks and hit the links for a few months, during off season, gotta get me one of those!!! Britannica calls him on a regular basis to update the current editions, Andy you are the most interesting man in the world!!

Reel is coming out in Oct 2011 with an MSRP of $349.99; that's not too bad when you compare it to $369.99 for a Core50Mg7 and $499.99 for any model of the Steez.

Ike was a long time Daiwa guy before he went to Abu; wonder if he had any influence on the reel and when they are going to come out with a $300 Ike rod to match.
