OnlineThis is about the one two punch which is very critical when fishing a tournament. The one two punch is about lure selection. Some times when fishing a top water bait it is good to have another bait tied on ready to throw in the same area if the fish misses a top water style lure.Top water baits such as frogs and Sammy's produce many misses. I have learned to keep weightless soft plastic near by just in case. The soft plastic will usually catch the fish. This also works on jigs that get short strikes use a weightless soft plastic. You may want to use a smaller size weight depending on the depth you are fishing. A small bait in either craw fish or finesse worm presentation is hard for a fish to resist. If you are throwing crank baits keep a jerkbait or spinner bait handy as the one two punch. Get a good understanding about the size of blades making sure they match the size of bait fish targeted by the bass. The fish are usually hitting out of reaction when they miss a moving bait but the second time around the will hit to eat if it looks injured. This should help put a few more fish in the boat. When you decide to go with a one two punch remember why you have the second rod sitting on the deck of your boat. Do not put the second rod in the rod box. Keep it ready.
