During this time of the year use smaller line and smaller sized lures when fishing on high weather pressure days. This may be what is necessary to get the bass in the live well. It works when you pay attention to nature and not the way you like  to fish. It is very hard to go fishing and not get bit. Your mind starts to wonder what is the problem. Many things go on inside of your mind but what do you change? Maybe location is the problem. So you go in search mode of a ledges. Then you go in search mode of a points. Then you start casting moving baits such as crank baits and spinner baits hoping for a suspended fish to bite. Stop the mental break down and think about weather condition's. The fish are relating to high pressure, slow down and fish smarter. Think about what the natural bait(shad-crawfish) in the lake is doing. Think about fish relating tighter to cover or structure. This will save you when search mode sets in on high pressure weather condition days. Remember the fish are in the water and we have to figure out what we can do to get them to hit the lure. Lure presentations such as hopping or dragging your bait to trigger a reaction strike may be the key to catching the fish once you get dialed in and focused. The first problem in not catching fish is usually the mental aspect a fisherman uses. You learn a lot about fishing but fail to put the knowledge together when you get on the water. Having a plan and doing your homework before getting on the water will make you a better fishermen.

Good post Duke .  I totally agree ,  if the fish aren't biting the way you want them to ,  your mind wanders ,  your casts are less accurate ,  you move the bait too fast .  Just zoneing out .  Keep your edge .  Another point especially to tournament fishermen is to eat somthing during the day .  Your brain needs fuel to work .  This is going to be a great year .  Come out and fish the TTZ series .  DG
