Anyone thrown this thing with success?  I have not fished it too terribly much, but I just want to make sure I have the right idea with this thing.  I have been letting the bait fall to the bottom and them giving it a few big jerks back up, fishing it simliarly to how I would a flutter spoon.  Am I on the right track here?

That is a good question, I have not had any luck on it yet, but that is the way I fish it as well.

Talked to Grant about it last night and he said almost all of his bites have come on the fall, I think we are on the right track.  Guess I just have to keep chucking it.

Still haven't gotten a bite, it is about to get buried in my tackle box.  I have had this thing tied on my flipping stick for almost a month now…

Before the Perch was officially rolled out Charles Whited showed it to me at Choke and said he had good success flipping it into the trees on controlled slack.  I've also heard this bait is killer out deep, but one concern I have fishing it on deep ledges is the way it falls; if you notice it tends to spiral its way down and depending on the size of your ledge you might miss it completely if you aren't 100% capable of controlling your slack.

I had intentions of pitching the Perch into isolated pockets on Austin this year but that went out the window after the draw down.  I think it's one of those baits that would be lights out in a specific scenario after you gain confidence in it.  One thing is for sure, this bait will get a work out once the schoolies start up again on Austin.
