I've heard and read fizzing through the side is the desired choice of most fish care experts, but through the mouth is the easiest for me.  However, the tool you use plays a huge factor in your success rate.

 

After using the Bends Mender on many occasions I am confident this is one of the best needles for fizzing fish up to 5 lbs through the mouth.  It's long yet still compact enough to comfortably execute a proper fizz in even the tightest livewells.

That is a good video, thanks for sharing Chris.   I think I have tried and failed both ways.  I think I could figure that out though, I would have never turned that needle to a 90 degree angle.  Good stuff
