Tuffman!

We had 5 bites all day with two keepers and came in 31 place I think with a little more than 4 LBS. WOW

Charles qualified for a second time Sunday and came in 12th place with a different partner. 9 keepers WOW

I am not going back to that lake until 2012! Bass Champs 2 times Great

Now for the report.

After a incredible practice a week ago 17 smalles and 2 blacks I was excited about the tournament. We had 4 different areas where we new we could catch a limit of fish quickly. After we ran the first two areas and zeroed we knew we were screwed. Not realizing how bad we ran all the areas 3 times thinking they would bite sooner or later. They didn't and we ran new water from past tournament and picked up our two keepers and three under. All fish were caught on cranks in shallow water.

Congratulations to all who qualified for the Championship in January.

All Terry needs is two teams to have already qualified in the previous tournaments to be eligible for the Championship.  Morse/Grimm qualified from the first event on Waco and Crawford/Warren qualified on Stillhouse.  Valentino should be good to go.

Think Dale summed it up nicely…….we too had a great plan going into yesterday based off a solid weekend of per-fishing. Didn't have the numbers of fish that Dale had but the ones we did find were solid keepers. As expected, Belton once again threw us a curve ball.

We drew out boat 75 which was fine since we expected we were going to need a little extra time to find that last keeper or two…or three. Got to our hole we wanted and within the first hour or so had a 4.5 and 2.5 in the live well. Happy with our start, I felt more pressure now to find 3 more keepers what I figured then would surely get us in the show. After working our area a little longer without another bite, be began our milk run. I caught another few short fish before 10 and my partner broke off what felt like a good fish around 1030. After 1030, I never got another bite the rest of the day and my poor partner never boated a fish the entire day but did have a few bites on a c-rig .

The last few hour we spend doing everything we could think of trying to find just one more keeper and hitting a number of holes along the way without any luck. Must say I've had some bad days on Belton but I'll chalk this one up as one of the worse when it comes to catching fish and getting bites! It was brutal for sure. If we had to do it over again, after those first two fish, we should have run to main lake and burned crank baits looking for a reaction bite to fill our limit. Our 2 keepers came from shadow water on flukes.

Our 2 fish weighed 7.08 and I was surprised as hell when my partner texted me this am to tell me we made the cut with our 14th place finish because 4 teams in the top 12 already qualified. We also got 2nd place big bass…..so over all, I guess I've have had worse days on Belon but it sure was a hard pill to swallow all day looking at those two fish swimming alone in the live well.

Time to get ready for Stillhouse…ugh…sure wish it was on Belton….did I really just say that????? TTZ representing regardless!
