TTZ has partnered with the Central Texas Water Coalition, Clear Channel and AM1300 The Zone to host this fundraising tournament with a guaranteed $10,000 first place prize!  The tournament will be a unique two day team format with an entry fee of $150 per team.  On day 1 competitors may fish their choice of Lake Travis, Austin, Buchanan or LBJ.  The top 50% of the field will qualify for the Championship Round on day 2, the weights will be zeroed and all qualified teams will fish on Lake LBJ for the $10,000 first place prize.  We will also pay out 1 place per 10 teams.  More info and rules will be updated here: http://ttz1.com/tournaments/ce…..coalition/

CTWC is an umbrella 501(c)4 non-profit organization with plans to unite the 2 million people who live in Central Texas in accordance with their mission:

Advocate for the preservation and conservation of the Highland Lakes' water supply and water levels for the benefit of human health, safety and recreation and tourism, and to preserve the Highland Lakes' role as an irreplaceable ecominc engine for the state of Texas.

The water we have in the lakes is precious, limited and must be protected; there is no new water.  Your support and participation can help protect our water and our future.  You may learn more about CTWC by visiting their website at: http://www.ourwater-ourfuture.com/

Mark your calendar and support a cause that all of us should be concerned with.  This is going to be a two day party you won't want to miss.  If you fished our Gone Fishing for Kids Tournament in 2010 you know what we're capable of!

I wonder how teams will approach this Tournament? Do you go hammer your water on LBJ to qualify or save it for the 10K on day two? For some reason I see Austin, Travis and Buchanan getting all the pressure on Day one.

We will see, this should be a lot of fun. The big girls will be on the beds an all the lakes.

I would like to know if we would be able to know how many people were fishing each lake. I also assume that 50% from each lake qualify. I choose to fish LBJ . i do not believe with 4 lakes being used on Saturday that the pressure will be great enough hammer my fish unless i hammer them. Would be interesting to see the list of who is fishing where on Saturday. Remember the date locked down fish will be few and far between.

Brian, the top 50% of weights from all the lakes combined qualify for Day 2 – not 50% from each lake.  We'll have more details and rules as the event approaches.

If it is 50% over all the lakes combined it would be hard to compete with Austin or Buch. What time of night will it be before we figure out if your qualified for Sunday.

Complete results and qualifying teams from Day 1 will be announced after a 12 pack…may be a bit longer depeding on company present.

Be sure and get this one on your calendars.  We'll have an angler appreciation meeting and buffet on Friday along with drink specials Friday and Saturday night at River City Grille, a band, a calcutta auction, and tons of great raffle items this weekend…it is shaping up to be quite the party!!
