Here's the information regarding registration and off limits.  The meeting on Friday at the Civic Center (5-7 pm) is mandatory for at least one member of each team.  There will be a meal provided so it's important that you make this meeting.  The only legitmate excuse would be a family emergency or medical issue.

You will register (credit card or cash only please) and receive all instructions and tournament information at this meeting, so please be off the lake and at the meeting on time.

The City of Lufkin and Lake Sam Rayburn will play host to the 2011 Lone Star Series Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops and Nitro Performance Bass Boats on October 22nd and 23rd.  Based at Cassels Boykin Park in Angelina County, this event will feature qualifying teams from the Central and North Divisions as they compete for the 2011 Nitro Z7 grand prize valued at $25,000.  The tournament registration and angler appreciation dinner will be held at Pitser Garrison Civic Center on Friday, October 21st from 5-7pm.  The Championship off limits will be October 10-19 with official practice days being held on October 20th-21st.

SAMPLE PAYOUT BASED ON 60 TEAMS:

1. 2011 Nitro Z7 w/Mercury 150

2. $2500

3. $2000

4. $1500

5. $1000

6. $800

7. $700

8. $600

9. $500

10. $400

We've received numerous calls asking if the event will be moved from Cassels-Boykin and the answer is no.  If the ramps at Cassels are not usable at the time of the tournament then we will provide alternate ramp/launch instructions at that point.  Regardless the weigh-in and tournament headquarters will remain at Cassels Pavilion.

We will update this thread as we have more information.  We look forward to seeing everyone at the tournament, with the teams we have competing in the North and Central this should be an outstanding two days on Sam Rayburn.

There are 40 teams from the North and 62 teams from the Central who are eligible to fish.  If you fished at least three regular season events or finished in the top 50% of the points standings (place 50th or better) you are eligible for the Championship.  Here are the eligible teams in AOY points order that qualified from the Central Division:

Folks,

Spoke with Terry Sympson over at Jackson Hill ramp and lodge.  Great guy, and awesome facility.  They have rooms available…tell 'em TTZ/LSS sent you.  They have excellent food and are really good folks.  Even if you are not staying there, laucnhing will be available, and he is keeping his ramps in great order for us.  Just across the bridge from Cassels facilities.

Give Terry and the gang a call at 936-872-9266.

Anyone going to Rayburn for the LSS Championship ,  there is a burn ban in effect .  No charcoal or wood fires are allowed .  Propane is ok for outdoor cooking .  I spoke to the owners of Harvey's ,  they didn't get any rain from this system .  The lake is currently 13' low .  I am ready to go ,  wishing it was this week not next week .  DG

Sample payout based on 60 teams has been added to the original post.

Also, the last time I was on Rayburn (back in 2008) once you cross the 147 bridge you are in a dry county.  So unless San Augustine is now wet, buy your beer before you cross…it sucks to have to drive back 4 miles to quench a thirst!  I think Zavala is the name of the town before the bridge.

The Central Division was well represented!  Derick Kuyrkendall and Forrest Wilson weighed 34.19 lbs over two days to win the Championship and take home the Nitro Z7; Charles Whited and Lee Beuershausen finished third overall and won an additional $1,000 for winning the 2011 LSS AOY race.

We'll have full results and pics up soon.
