Army Bass Anglers

SUPPORT – DEFEND – FISH

It’s a motto that came to Major Cody Roberson during the initial invasion of Iraq back in 2003.  ”SUPPORT-DEFEND-FISH” is really a mission statement that combines the love of country and the love of fishing into a support mechanism for fellow soldiers coming home from active duty around the world.

Once Cody was back in the states, word spread of his idea and 11 other active and non active duty soldiers quickly joined the fight to become known as Army Bass Anglers.

Using bass fishing and competitive tournament fishing as their platform, the Army Bass Anglers have charged full force into several programs to support fellow soldiers including :

Returning Heroes Home – This $ 3.4 million dollar project is a privately funded facility in San Antonio that gives wounded soldiers a place to recover from injuries in a comfortable, non-hospital setting.  To date the Army Bass Anglers have raised over $300,000 for Returning Heroes Home.

Ongoing support is needed to keep the Returning Heroes Home going. If you would like to say thanks to these soldiers in any amount, please click here to make a donation.

The Army Bass Anglers – “HOOAH !!”

Fishing for Freedom – A fishing tournament that pairs competitive bass anglers with a soldier partner, and lets soldiers get a taste of the sport, while having a good time out on the water.

Take A Soldier Fishing – This non-competitive endeavor places bass fishermen with soldiers, and allows our heroes the opportunity to get out on the waters they so bravely defend.

Take a Wounded Soldier Fishing – A network that allows a soldier recovering from injuries an opportunity to get out on the lake for a day of fishing, and a day to focus on what they enjoy.

These are just some of the programs that Army Bass Anglers uses to give back to our real heroes.  Texas Tournament Zone is proud to join forces with the Army Bass Anglers and show support for those who defend our freedoms around the world.
