As many of you know Jeff and George Cook had been dreaming about a local trail that would benefit the Central Texas area with local tournaments and events; a circuit where local fisherman could enjoy a wholesome family environment, yet still have a chance to qualify and compete in a local two day championship with a shot at winning a nice bass boat.

With sponsors and staff on board, Jeff proudly debuted Faith Angler Network to Central Texas with their first open tournament on November 14th, the George E Cook Memorial Tournament on Belton.

Fishing was tough for the majority of the 32 teams, but once again a Texas Boat World team figured them out and when the scales closed Jeff Pitrucha and Ronnie Trower won with a 20+ pound sack! Jeff said he caught all of his weight in the first hour or so on a white spinnerbait. They concentrated in one small area that he’s been doing very well in and caught over 23 pounds to win another tournament just a few weeks prior. Jeff and Ronnie also won Big Bass with their 6.71 lb kicker. Jeff would like to thank Texas Boat World, Fenwick, Berkley and Trilene.

Coming in second were Army Bass Anglers Chuck Guthrie and Randy Sitz with 18.40 pounds. Chuck and Randy also caught their fish on blades and were throwing the 3-bladed white Ninja Spin and a custom 4 blade spinnerbait made by JRod Bait Co. They reported having three fish over 4 pounds by 6:30 including the second place big bass of 5.12 lbs. Chuck mentioned they also caught some fish on black/blue jigs but went back to the spinnerbaits and culled them later in the day. The team would like to thank Army Bass Anglers and all of their sponsors for supporting them.

The Faith Angler Network is comprised of people who share a love of Christ, the outdoors and the sport of fishing. In addition to organizing a professionally ran and competitive bass tournament trail in Central Texas, they organize youth fishing and outdoor events, outdoor expos for churches and corporations and special fishing and outdoor events for our service men and women.
