Guadapalooza 2021 Waylon Papst Memorial Tournament, the World Championship of Guadalupe Bass will as always be the last Saturday in November before Thanksgiving. This year that falls on 11/20/21.
In memory of our dear friend this tournament will donate 100% of proceeds from the event, auctions, t-shirts, and sponsorship donations will be put into a 529 Education Fund for Waylon’s daughter Adelynn.
OPEN TO EVERYONE, no membership required. $60 entry includes a $10 side pot for biggest largemouth. 100% of the side pot will be paid out to the big bass. The rest of the $50 entries will be put in in Adelynn’s 529 education fund. Main pot pays three places to the best five guadalupe bass bags. Fish team or solo, but must follow all state laws.
T-Shirts are $35, Waylon’s friends paid for the T-shirts, 100% of the sales proceeds will go to Adelynn’s education fund. At the weigh in we have donated items that will be put up for auction, 100% of the proceeds will go to Adelynn’s education fund.
Entry fee is $60 per team, $10 will go to the biggest largemouth pot and the remaining $50 will all go to Adelynn’s fund. Our sponsors have covered the payout of $1000 for first place, $600 for second, and $400 for third place. Regardless of turnout this will be the guaranteed payout.
Registration: Friday 11/19 from 5pm-8pm and Saturday morning registration starting at 5am, Arkansas Bend
Tournament Hours: Release at First Safe Light Saturday 11/20, Check in at 1pm.
Registration and check in will be at Arkansas Bend Park on Lake Travis
All boats will be given a boat number at registration, boats can launch from any ramp but must be present for livewell checks as their boat number is called for release Saturday morning.
The main pot will be paid out to the best five guadalupe bass. The side pot will be paid out to the biggest largemouth. The Largemouth big bass winner must be alive (the guads can be on ice or alive, they are getting eaten). Anglers can keep as many fish in their boat as they would like as long as they follow TPWD game laws. Catch a nice catfish, some whites, a crappie, yes please keep we will fry them up!
Only artificial baits may be used. No live or cut bait is permitted (pork baits are permitted). All bass must be caught alive in a legal and sporting manner. No snagging. Each contestant may only use 1 rod at a time. No more than 1 line in the water at a time per angler. All fishing must be conducted from the boat. At no time may a contestant leave the boat to land a fish. Trolling with a combustion motor is allowed.
After weigh-in we will give out the money, run the auction, and get to cooking up the fish, so stick around for one of the best lake side shore lunches you can have!
We will need volunteers to cook, bring fryers or food, and volunteers to clean fish (we will have plenty of fish cleaning juice).
