The chance of rain and lack of wind kept most, if not all, the recreational boats and sailboats off the water this evening. With the entire lake to ourselves, ten teams blasted off from Mansfield in search of that lucky 7.77 pound bass.
Keepers were hard to come by and despite being one fish shy of a limit, Dale and Jake Read found the right fish and bested the rest of the field by more than 2 pounds. Using flukes, Yamamoto Senkos and a Reaction Innovations Vixen, they managed to scrape together a 10.31 pound sack and finish first for the second week in a row! This marks the third victory for the father and son team in only five events on Travis.
Second and third places were extremely close and separated by a mere .06 pounds. Throwing crankbaits and dragging Carolina rigs in 8-10′ of water, David and Jeff edged out Dean and Kenny with four fish going 8.27 pounds. Dean and Kenny took home the Yamamoto and Kinami tackle pack for their just out of the money third place finish.
The Lucky 7 Big Bass pot is now up to $375.00 and will roll over to next week. Thanks to all that came out and congrats again to the teams in the money!
