13 teams fished, 9 teams weighed in and 2 places were paid.
What a night on Travis! It’s been a while since we’ve seen this many quality sacks brought in during a Tues Nighter. The big fish were biting and several teams reported losing fish in the four pound range which would have helped them cull or reach their limit.
Cody and Jeremy were one of the last teams to the scales but weighed in the biggest sack of the night. Their 15.54 pounds included a near six pound kicker, 5.97 pounds to be exact. The two concentrated on marinas to catch their winning fish; when asked what the bait of choice was Cody mentioned Grande Bass Rattle Snakes fished in 12′ of water. Congrats guys on one heck of a sack and first place!
Second place was a close race between three different teams with well over 12 pounds! Matt and Trey edged out David and Frank for third place and the Yamamoto and Kinami tackle pack; both teams were one fish shy of their limit and still weighed in nearly 13 pounds. Marty and Will managed to catch their limit and secured themselves in second place with 12.95 pounds. Our second place finishers fished coves and found all their fish biting topwater baits thrown against shallow banks.
It was also nice to see TTZ fishing team member Mike James and his kids out fishing this evening. His oldest son Preston has been catching some quality fish on Travis and proved he can hang with the big boys by catching their largest keeper of the evening. Mike later told us Preston had another fish on in the 3.5 to 4 pound range but lost it right at the boat. Mike’s kids love to fish and the smiles on their faces are what this sport is all about!
The Lucky 7 Big Bass pot rolls over to $630.00 next week! Though nothing over 7.77 pounds has yet to be weighed, four different teams had fish over five pounds tonight! Thanks to all that came out and congrats again to the winners, see y’all on the water!
