TTZ – Austin Wed Night 4/1/09

25 teams fished, 10 teams weighed in and 3 places were paid.

We had a solid showing of 25 boats fishing for the Certified Arbor Care $300.00 11.34 pound Big Bass Bonus and the Hustler Turf, Mitchell Outdoors and TTZ $25,000.00 lake record prize. The bite was tough for many and even though no limits were weighed in there were some very nice fish brought to the scales.

Trey and TJ weighed the first big bass of the evening as they lifted a 7.63 pound brute out of their bag. The team added three more fish to the scales and led Big Bass and overall weight for most of the evening with their four fish bag going 12.70 pounds. TJ mentioned they only had four bites all night and caught their fish on a variety of baits including crankbaits, soft plastics and a SPRO top water frog. Their big fish exploded on the frog and missed it the first time around but Trey managed to stick it on the second cast back.

Edging out Trey and TJ for Big Bass and taking first place overall were the Waldrops. Their four fish bag of 13.21 pounds earned them $375.00 and their 7.73 pound Big Bass added another $125.00 to the brothers’ winnings. Jack Jr reported catching their fish using watermelon candy jigs fished very tight to docks.

Finishing in the money for the third time out of four events were Dale and Jake with four fish going a little over 10 pounds, they also had a near six pound kicker to anchor their sack. Joe and his father Porfirio took home the Yamamoto and Kinami tackle pack for their just out of the money finish. Congrats again to Porfirio for catching the team’s 6.09 lber and setting his new personal best! Speaking of personal bests, Eric Austin shattered his and proves he’s a multi species angling master as he proudly weighed in a magnum 2.63 pound white bass.

Remember, it only takes one cast and you could be walking away $25,300.00 richer! Thanks to all that came out and see y’all next week!
