26 teams fished, 8 teams weighed in and 3 places were paid.
Most anglers will tell you it’s anyone’s game on Austin right now. Weighing in one of only three limits this evening, Lee and Andrew followed up their win last week with another first place finish tonight. The team found their fish shallow and put five keepers in the boat worth $390.00; flukes in two feet of water was the pattern reported by Lee. Congrats again guys!
Second place by only .02 pounds were Brad and Randy. Their fishing was cut short as battery problems forced them to come in half an hour early with only three fish. However, one of those fish was the Big Bass of the evening at 5.94 pounds and added and extra $130.00 on top of their $235.00 payout. The third place payout and the Yamamoto/Kinami tackle pack were also very close finishes; fishing deeper docks with Grande Bass RattleSnakes, Yung and Rich edged out Mike and Jack Jr with their 10.85 pound limit. Speaking of close finishes, the Waldrops found themselves .24 pounds shy of the Big Bass money and just .23 pounds out of third place!
We had a great turnout this evening and expect the field to steadily grow as the trail events begin to wind down. It won’t be too long (I’m guessing next week) before we see 20 pound sacks and 30 boat fields. Thanks to all that came out and congrats again to all the teams in the money!
