Texas Tournament Zone team member Bryan Thompson traveled to the Legend factory in Mountain Home, AR this past week to check up on the team’s two new Legend Alpha 211s. The highly anticipated boats are scheduled to be picked up in early May; until then, here’s a quick peek into the abbreviated build of the 2010 Alpha 211.
First the hull is gunned, wetted out and rolled to make a perfect mix of resin and glass; it’s also rolled to remove any air and excess resin.
The same is done with the top cap. Also in between and attached are the stringer system and transom. After the stringer and transom are done curing in the hull, the top cap is attached and connected to the floor, the rod lockers, and other areas to increase rigidity, strength, quietness of ride, and general ride qualities.
After the cap is attached and glassed in, they install carpets, seat bases and finish any other rough work.
What you see below is part of the multi gusset transom system. It is 100% fiberglass and displaces a huge amount of surface area when tied into the stringer system. This is what gives a Legend its solid feel and amazingly strong transom; your motor mounts will break before the hull does.
Almost there, starting to look like a real boat.
Trailer added.
Even the little things make a big statement…lighted handrails and a custom stripe fade.
These are just a few things we like about the Legend; not to mention they are one of, if not the only boat manufacturer that really gives you the best of all worlds in quality of craftsmanship, incredible ride, speed and the best in customer satisfaction. We’ll be headed back to the factory when the boats are finished to film a video of the Legend production experience.
Once they roll in to Austin, don’t be shy and take a demo ride at any one of our tournaments. You can also contact us and we can show you all the benefits, features and highlights of the new Legend Alpha 211.
